For decades, each winter Timson has openly entered the fields of an uninhabited farm adjoining his home and cross-country skied several times a week. He knows the Abel family that used to farm there, but they have moved to a town 25 kilometres away. The Abels have just sold the farm to Belsen, and he has erected a sign at the gate, “No Trespassing.”
