The commercial fishing industry is concerned about the effect on fish of small amounts of pharmaceuticals in rivers and coastal waters where extensive fishing is done. In a recent study of the effects of the drug oxazepam (Science), researchers examined the behavior of fish (perch) exposed to various levels of the drug and measured, among other things, the changes in appetite observed in the exposed fish. Assume that the table below shows the average consumption (in grams) of zooplankton for fish exposed to three different concentrations of the drug (measured in parts per billion).
Test the hypothesis that average consumption for the populations represented here is the same for the three concentration levels. Use a significance level of 5%.
