The first Joint Canada/ US Survey of Health was conducted with a random sample of adults 18 and over. The sample size was 5200 Americans and 3500 Canadians. In the American sample, 42% reported that the quality of their health care services in general was excellent, compared with 39% in the Canadian sample (cdc.gov/nchs). Can these sample results be used to reject a “no difference in population proportions” null hypothesis at the 1% significance level?
