I have about a year of formal tutoring experience, as well as approximately three years of informal tutoring/study group experience.
Formal experience:
Remedial tutoring at Cincinnati Public Schools, grades 1-6. Taught social studies, basic English/grammar, and basic math.
One month of prior online tutoring experience.
Informal experience:
Led study groups while in college in thermodynamics, physics (E&M and Mechanics), multivariable calculus, differential equations, aerodynamics, gas dynamics, aerodynamic structures, statics and solid mechanics. My role involved leading discussions, working out difficult problems with classmates who were struggling, and walking through solutions step by step, providing clarification and rationale behind each step along the way.
While living in a dormitory, I was frequently helped other residents with their assignments, especially calculus and physics assignments.
