The XYZ Company distributes three product lines to seven customers. Sales are recorded manually on invoices. Separate invoices are always used to record sales of product line number 1. Sales of the other two product lines are always recorded together on a single invoice.
The manager would like to know the total daily sales of each product line in dollars and also the daily sales total for each product line sold to each customer.
To develop this information manually, the manager will collect all the invoices at the end of each day. A separate worksheet will be used to record the daily sales total for each product line. Each worksheet will have seven columns with separate headings—one for each customer. The manager will record each day’s sales totals on a separate line of each worksheet.
