Question:

University Research, Inc. has just completed a study of career plans for this year’s engineering and business school seniors. A sample of 1500 graduating senior engineering students and a sample of 1500 graduating business school seniors were randomly selected from universities nationwide. Each student was asked whether he/ she planned to pursue graduate studies. Results showed that 525 of the engineering school seniors and 435 of the business school seniors in the sample responded yes. Can this sample result be used to reject a null hypothesis that there is no difference in the percentage of graduating business majors and graduating engineering majors who plan to pursue graduate studies?
