One of the problems is that the company will reduce productivity because the employees may feel depressed and thus they will fail to finish their work on time or at all. Another problem is that the company will start losing profits. Bad management will lead the organization to pay an industry wage for a low output. As a result, the employees will start looking for another job and not focusing on their works since they know that the impact of poor leadership and management can go viral and lead the business to permanently close its doors.

Despite all the difficulties, effective leadership will save the entire organization and keep a business running. One example of a good leader that saved a business is Steve Jobs, who was the co-founder and CEO of Apple Inc. from 1997-2011. When he returned to Apple in 1997, the company was losing hundreds of millions of dollars and the company was 90 days from going bankrupt. The reason why Apple almost went bankrupt was because they produced many similar products, and there were also a few competitors in the market. Then, Jobs decided to help the company and solve the problem by hiring new employees and reducing the number of the company products by 70 percent. A few months later, he successfully brought Apple back to life and made profits. Now, Apple's market value is over $600 billion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world. A good leader will help the organization to have a better financial result, goal achievement, and low turnover. What is leadership? Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of people to achieve a certain goal (Northouse 2015). Leaders will need plans, some skills, and traits that that will guide the group to accomplish organization objectives. Effective leadership plays a big role in business. Organizations need leaders that communicate and listen to their team, make firm decisions, know their strengths and weaknesses, and motivate employees. Leadership depends on three basic personal skills, which are technical, human, and conceptual.

Literature Review

The first skill that leaders need in business is technical skill. What is technical skill? Technical skill implies an understanding of and expertise in a detailed kind of activity, particularly one involving methods, processes, procedures, or techniques (Northouse 2015). It gives the leader the ability and knowledge to use different techniques to accomplish organizational objectives. According to Katz's theory, technical skill includes competence in a specialized area, analytical ability, and ability to use appropriate tools and techniques (Katz 2014). Technical skills are required by leaders to help them communicate efficiently with other employees within the business and coordinate their efforts.

Data analysis is one of the main areas in business in which technical skills are required. It is essential for a business leader to understand how to analyze data in order to assess the business performance level. It is also essential for the business leaders to have technical skills that would help them coordinate all the data reports thus preventing cases of data loss due to misappropriation of essential information. As a business leader, an individual acts as a data analyst who works on various problems in order to solve the issues arising from poor management within the business. It is essential to have technical skills as a manager regardless of the level of hierarchy within the organization, as it will help the leader to understand the problems raised by employees regarding technical information and address them effectively.
