You have been charged with the responsibility of heading up a design team. The team’s responsibility will be to design a production control system. The team consists of you and four other members, including two systems analysts, a data-base designer, and the production manager. To initiate the project, you call a meeting of all individuals on the design team. At the first meeting, however, you find that the two systems analysts and the database designer have already made up their minds regarding the structure of the system under consideration. As head of the team, you feel that several major design alternatives should be considered before selecting a particular system. How do you deal with this problem?
