A machine for making bread rolls makes 1500 rolls in 20 minutes. How many rolls will it
Question:
A machine for making bread rolls makes 1500 rolls in 20 minutes.
How many rolls will it make in 3 hours?
Let x be the number of rolls made in 3 hours.
The ratios have to be equivalent. You multiply the number of minutes by 9 to get 180 so you must also multiply the number of rolls by 9.
1500 × 9 = 13 500, so 13 500 rolls are made in 3 hours.
