Assemble five of your classmates together as a team with a pair of dice to perform the following procedure: Each team member is to generate five samples of five by rolling the pair of dice 25 times and recording the results. The first 5 rolls will constitute the first sample, the next 5 rolls the second sample, and so on. When all five team members have completed their rolls you should have 25 samples of 5 each. Construct charts, either manually or using software such as Minitab. Then answer the following questions.
a. Is the process in a state of statistical control? Look for out-of-control points and compliance with the two runs tests.
b. Is there any evidence to suggest that differences exist between team members? With respect to variance? With respect to average? Explain.
c. What is the estimated process average? How does this estimate compare to the expected value computed using statistical probabilities?
