She had authorized Maple Capital to make the following payroll deductions: RRSP contribution of $55 per month and United Way donation of $37.50 per month.
Maple Capital incurred CPP expense equal to the amount deducted from Patel's pay and EI expense equal to 1.4 times the amount Patel paid. In addition, Maple Capital paid dental and drug insurance of $38 per month and pension benefits of 7 percent of her base salary.
