In a survey of Hope College students, two of the questions asked were their current grade point average (GPA) and how much sleep they got (in hours) on the previous school night. The data can be found in the file Sleep-  GPA. Let’s explore whether or not there is evidence of a strong association between these two variables.
a. What is the value of the correlation? Based on this number, does it appear there is a strong association between our two variables?
b. What is the value of the slope of the regression line? What does this number mean in terms of sleep and GPA?
c. State the appropriate null and alternative hypotheses.
d. Conduct a simulation analysis with 1,000 repetitions. What is your p-value?

e. Based on your p-value, is there evidence of a strong association between sleep and GPA for Hope College students?
f. There should be some conflict between your estimate of the strength of association in part (a) and your answer to part (e). Why did that occur with this data set?
