Refer to exercise 11.38 to find the data. Follow the instructions given in exercise 11.43. Exercise 11.38

Question:

Refer to exercise 11.38 to find the data. Follow the instructions given in exercise 11.43.

Exercise 11.38

Sixty-six reading students were randomly assigned to be taught using one of three teaching methods. One method is called Basal and uses textbooks that are organized to develop reading skills. Another method is called DRTA (Directed Reading Thinking Activity) and is a comprehension strategy that guides students in asking questions about a text, making predictions, and then reading to confirm or refute their predictions. The third method, which is called Strat, uses different strategies. The test scores are given in the box. Test the hypothesis that reading method affects test scores using a significance level of 0.05. Show all four steps. Do not do post hoc tests. Assume Normality.

Exercise 11.43.

A random sample of students was studied. Whether the student chose to sit in the front, middle, or back row in a college class was recorded, along with the person’s grade point average (GPA). Test the hypothesis that GPA is associated with choice of row using a significance level of 0.05. Assume Normality. Assume the conditions for ANOVA are met. Show the F- and p-values and the conclusion for the ANOVA using an overall significance level of 0.05. Do post hoc tests using confidence intervals (98.33% intervals for three groups) if post hoc tests are appropriate. Assume equal variances. Use the underlining method, listing the category with the lowest mean on the left and the category with the highest mean on the right, with any pairs (or groups of three) that are not significantly different underlined. Finally, write your conclusions in complete sentences.
