In Chandler’s blending model, suppose a chemical ingredient called CI is needed by both gasoline and heating oil. At least 3% of every barrel of gasoline must be CI, and at least 5% of every barrel of heating oil must be CI. Suppose that 4% of all crude oil 1 is CI, and that 6% of all crude oil 2 is CI. Modify the model to incorporate the constraints on CI, and then optimize. Don’t forget to clear denominators.
