Question:
Choose a volunteer group in your community to share your time with. Essentially, you are volunteering your time for a cause: to help others. This could be a fundraiser, a food drive, a holiday gift drive, helping an elderly woman get her groceries etc. etc. You get my drift. The time you spend is up to you: an hour, a half day, a weekend—only you know what you can feasibly fit into your schedule.
Requirement:
Compile all of your mental/written notes from attending the event or volunteer opportunity of your experiences. What did you learn? Who did you meet? How did you feel before and after the event? Have you volunteered/attended other events before? Would you do something like this again? What are the benefits of activism, if any? How does/did this experience correlate to the class, if at all? Add any other pertinent information from your experiences.
