This summer though, mom reported that her overt happiness and positivity was replaced with sadness, fatigue, and excessive feelings of worthlessness. She spent most nights in her room listening to music and only left the house during the day, because her mom forced her go to summer camp, often leading to an arguing match. Jessica rarely hung out with her friends anymore fearing that they would judge her if she did something embarrassing or expressed an opinion different from theirs. Jessica also started skipping meals, reporting that she was not hungry. Her mom made an appointment for her to see a therapist.
