Question:
Perform particle motion simulation in framework of particle-in-cell approach.
Calculate the trajectory of an electron using the parameters given in Table.1. All other components are zero.
X Coordinate | Y Coordinate | Z Coordinate |
V0,x =105 m/s | V0,y = 2×105 m/s | V0,z = 1.5×105 m/s |
Ex = 1000 V/m | Ey = 0 | B = 0.1 T; Ez = 0 |
Particle: electron | ||
Initial position (0,0,0) | ||
Time step size: 10-11 s | ||
Total Time Step: 100 |
Plot the result of the simulation on a 3-axix plot. Remember to label the axes and provide the correct units. Additionally:
- Calculate the magnitude of the velocity at step 100 and provide the three velocity components at step 100.
- Calculate the distance travelled in z-direction by the particle in the 100 steps. How much distance would have the particle travelled if V0,x= V0,y = 0?
- Calculate the Larmor radius at step 100.
