Was the role of women changing? In what ways do the examples the author cites reveal an alternative power structure? How do women manipulate or resist the system imposed upon them? Finally, from an historical point of view, what is the evidence that she uses to arrive at her conclusions, and are you convinced by her argument? It should be 5-7 pages in length and should conform to all the usual standards of good essay writing. Be attentive to proper style, syntax, spelling, etc, and be sure to use footnotes or endnotes for all references to the book, direct or indirect.
