] Scenario and Instructions Imagine that you just began working in the position and at the sport organization of your dreams. A good friend who worked there in the past has told you that although the organization is one of the finest and you'll likely find it a great experience, you may encounter a few "jerks" in the workplace. You decide to observe as many interactions as you can over the next couple of months to see if you can locate any bad behavior. In the first two months of employment, you observe the following. You are walking down the hall one morning when a colleague you have met only once passes and says, "Hey, good-lookin'! Those pants look painted on." At the latest staff meeting, several employees sit at the conference table with smartphones in hand, responding to email or surfing the Web throughout the meeting. You overhear two colleagues in the breakroom talking about their weekends. One says in a low voice (but loud enough for you to hear), "It bothered me to see all those foreigners at that concert." You just got a haircut over the weekend. As you walk into the office on Monday, a colleague says, "I love your new hair style!" You're having lunch with a group of colleagues, enjoying a spirited discussion of who should have won the last March Madness NCAA tournament, when one colleague blurts out, "I always put my money on whichever team has the most colored players!" Think about each of the above. Which of these are "bad behaviors," and why? How might you respond in these situations? On the discussion forum, state which behaviors you feel are inappropriate, why you feel that way, and a wise approach to addressing them.
