Question:
You have been asked by a group of Bulgarian wineries to examine ways they can increase their sales in the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea. One of the problems that they have identified is that people in these countries, particularly the U.S., are mostly unaware of Bulgarian wines. (Indeed, many in the U.S. confuse Bulgaria with Bolivia, for reasons I do not understand.) In order to identify the actual problems for Bulgarian wineries to be able to conduct this examination, you need to start with an appropriate model. Answer the following questions related to developing an appropriate model that will inform your eventual study. In your own words, what is the problem you are trying to explain and/or solve? What are the objectives of your model? Who is the relevant agent? What alternatives exist to this model? What assumptions will you need to employ for your model? Identify your input variable(s). How will they be used? What is the relationship between the input variables and the output?
