A metal casting process for the production of turbine blades was studied. Three factors were varied. They were A: the temperature of the metal, B: the temperature of the mold, and C: the pour speed. The outcome was the thickness of the blades, in mm. The results are presented in the following table.

a. Compute estimates of the main effects and the interactions.

b. Is it possible to compute an error sum of squares? Explain.

c. Plot the estimates on a normal probability plot. Does the plot show that some of the factors influence the thickness? Explain.
