Reserpine is a naturally occurring indole alkaloid with powerful tranquilizing and antihypertensive activity. Many such compounds possess a characteristic structural feature: one nitrogen atom at a ring fusion separated by two carbons from another nitrogen atom. 

A series of compounds with modified versions of this structural feature have been synthesized and also shown to have antihypertensive activity, as well as antifi brillatory properties. One such synthesis is shown here. Name or draw the missing reagents and products (a) through (c).
