Who am I?

I am currently a French Education student at Ohio University with a background in English and Creative Writing. Before I was in college, I was a teacher’s aide at my local high school. This is where I started on my path towards becoming an educator. I assisted in Introductory French classrooms, where I gained the skills to help students understand a subject as complex as a foreign language. I continued this love of teaching by joining my college’s club of Foreign Languages in Elementary Schools, where we get experience by sharing our love of foreign language with elementary aged students. ... As a lover of the French language, I have been fortunate enough to visit France two times in my life, once when I was seventeen and again when I graduated high school. I hope to soon make that three times, as I have applied to study abroad in Grenoble, France for the summer of 2019. I would love to take the skills I’ve learned to tutor students.

Student Web Developer

Using coding languages such as HTML, I assist Ohio University faculty and staff in maintaining and updating the many websites associated with our university. I work with a team of Web Developers and Student Web Developers to create content using various coding and development programs to ensure that our websites are functional and free of design flaws.

Laboratory Animal Aide

Ohio University

For the last two years I have worked as an Aide in the Laboratory Animal Resources division at Ohio University. Using skills such as animal husbandry, laboratory safety, and managing lab animal files I have assisted in the care of animals from mice and rabbits to raccoons and skunks. On a daily basis, I maintain the sanitation of animal rooms and cages, assure that the animals have clean food and water, update the animal files with any new research information, and assist in maintaining the order of research and experiment notes.
