Who am I?

In school, I began to be curious about DNA, cells and disease biology. Watching television documentaries on modern medicine fueled my curiosity. After completing school, my goal was to develop research and teaching skills in life sciences. I wanted to do my own research and to share the knowledge that I would gain during my own academic journey. I did my Bachelor in Biotechnology fascinated by its multidisciplinary approach. Doing my undergraduate in biotech acquainted me with a broad set of subjects. The coursework helped me gain theoretical knowledge of physiology, genetics, and molecular b...

Designed a research project to study the promoter element of HIV Subtype-C. I worked on designing mutant viruses that help understand the functional compatibility of transcription factors binding to promoter. The worked involved extensive use of molecular cloning, bacterial cell culture and tissue culture combined with flow cytometric analysis. This helped me gain theoretical and practical knowledge of HIV virology and various molecular biology and immunology techniques.
