Work Hard : Play Hard

Work Hard : Play Hard

Are you an A+ student?

Considering the fact that most students do not want to take summer classes and would rather work part-time and splurge that pocket money on a night out, some of you might just be the opposite. The primary purpose of going to college is getting an

education but it is equally important to go out, have fun and make friends. Some students nowadays, in search of a most suited college for their education also consider the dual principle of work hard, play hard. This may be interpreted in two ways that students looking to study but also wanting to be part of an institution which offers more sports options or grants/scholarships for their athletic abilities. The second school of thought is work hard, party hard.  Personally, I work hard but party harder.

Let’s look at some schools which according to student reviews and statistics top the party list:

Tulane University, LA

University of Georgia, GA

West Virginia University, WV

These are the top schools academics wise:

Stanford University, CA

Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MA

Harvard University, MA

Now, these are my favorite ones, my A+ list, the ultimate mix, the cocktail that gives you a little bit of everything, the complete gamut of education, party and whatever your deciding factor might be:

University of Pennsylvania, PA

Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MA

Vanderbilt University, TN

The old stereotype that parents are the ones to choose a college for their kids based on academics and students will pick based on parties has been given some leeway. While many students serious about life want a sound education, a lot many parents want their college bound kids to have a little fun as well, as long as they stay safe of course. After all there are only 4 summers on average during your college life and you want to remember each one, distinctly. Where there’s a party, there’s alcohol. Yes, I agree but I am in no way endorsing that it is ok to consume alcohol and be part or cause of catastrophe.

The kid of your heart will always want to party and there is nothing wrong about it but you don’t want to be in total meltdown situation and tailspin into chaos, so keeping that see-saw going and maintaining that balance between academics and social life is imperative. Like anything else don’t become a party addict or any kind of addict for that matter.

So, let me ask you again – Are you an A+ student?

All honorary mentions are statistics and works of other parties. I do not claim these statistics as being true and belonging to me.
