The company fired Veronica for this dishonest and unethical behavior. Veronica admitted it was her fault and reimbursed the company for the charged personal expenses. The company then sent a general distribution e-mail to its 300 employees stating that Veronica was fired because of her dishonesty in submitting a false expense report, making it clear that this kind of dishonest behavior would not be tolerated. The email did not mention that Veronica reimbursed the company for the charged personal expenses.
