‘All this discussion about group membership and building successful teams is very interesting and sounds fine in the classroom. But it ignores the reality of the work environment for example with managing groups of workers in a restaurant kitchen, on a production assembly line, in a gay pub, or with professionals such as lecturers, doctors or lawyers.’
