A gas is contained in a cylinder closed on one side by a piston. The distance between the piston and  the other end of the cylinder is 1.4 m.  Determine the distance between the piston and the other end of  the cylinder such that, keeping the temperature constant, 

a) the gas specific weight doubles; 

b) the gas density becomes equal to a half of the initial value.
