Slot A is to be machined on 2000 components using a milling machine as shown in Figure 2. To do this a milling fixture is to be designed. Study Figure 2 and do the following: • State and discuss the locating devices chosen. • Draw a hand sketch demonstrating how the part will be located. • Clamping is a requirement in milling, therefore identify the correct type of clamping for the project. Briefly discuss the working principles of the chosen clamping device. • Draw a hand sketch demonstrating how the part will be clamped. • Discuss the design principles for the design of fixtures.
