Question:
Hullabaloo Party Supplies (HPS) has hired you, a Systems Analyst, to help them design an online customer ordering system.
The system will need to:
- Allow the customer to order online; the customer must be able to order multiple different items, as well as choose different quantities
- Obtain complete customer information
- Allow the customer to create an account
- Calculate order cost including tax
- Offer payment via credit card or PayPal
- Debit the ordered items from inventory
- Offer multiple choices for shipping
Assume the following costs associated with the system:
- Assuming monetary benefits of customer ordering at $185,000 per year, one-time costs of $275,000, recurring costs of $85,000 per year, a discount rate of 12 percent, and a five-year time horizon,
- calculate the net present value of these costs and benefits of an information system.
For the first phase of the project, you will do the following:
- Create a detailed requirements list; and
- Conduct an economic feasibility analysis
- Calculate the return on investment
- Calculate the breakeven point
- Recommend the development methodology you will utilize, providing justification for that choice.
Your paper should be a minimum of 3 pages in length, not including title and reference pages, and must fully address the assignment requirements. It should conform to the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.). Include at least two credible references in addition to the course textbook. The CSU Global Library is a good place to find these references.
