I'd like you to begin by selecting a 30-second commercial from this year's Super Bowl. The ads can be easily searched so you can have a complete listing and view the commercials. Once you've selected a commercial, I'd like you to critique it. Again, you're doing this in 'marketing terms' and relating it to best practices, not just a personal opinion. Things you might include in your critique (not all of these are required, and this list is by no means exhaustive): . . Who is their target market? Does the commercial 'speak' to them in terms of people featured in the ad, language used, context, etc.? What is the 'big idea' (creative concept) and how well is it executed? Does the ad follow a 'rational' or 'emotional' format, and do you think it's appropriate? What is it trying to accomplish (inform, persuade, remind) and is it successful? What is the format and where is the important message in the commercial? If the commercial uses a spokesperson, do you find him or her appropriate? Any other general comments.
