In reference to ASC320-10-40 and ASC321-10-40, when it comes to selling those securities in the middle of an accounting period, do we need to evaluate it at fair value and sell it (separate into 2 entries like the first one below)? Or we can just batch the 2 entries in one entry like the second entry below? Or both procedures are accepted on a case-by-case basis?
