A traffic stop led to the killing of young black man by 5 black police officers in my hometown of Memphis, TN. Why is this news you ask? Because there is a very well known conception going on that police officers shed too much of there power on to a majority of black people. This conception has led to distrust in the communities in Tennessee of the people who may very well need protection the most. But what is getting the most media attention, is that the emergency services that arrived on the scene after Nichols being beaten by the police refused service to the injured man. Had Tyree Nichols received the health services that he needed on the scene, he would have survived that day. Tyree Nichols died because he did not receive the care he needed after already suffering at the hands of the police officers. As of today, there are no laws that state that EMS workers can withhold services to people who are in police custody. No matter what type of crime was done, especially if the assailant is unarmed, the well-being of everyone in the surrounding area should be priority if injuries are sustained. Please respond with your opinion below.

2. Starting off in 2023, inflation was not looking too good. "We are told by experts to expect ongoing inflation and subdued economic growth. Many industries are still plagued by supply chain issues that emerged during the global shutdowns caused by Covid-19 and have only got worse due to the war in Ukraine (Marr, n.d.)". Experiencing this high inflation is bring major hardship to many Americans, especially after something as huge as covid. With the pricing of homes, basic needs such as food, gas, down to the clothes you wear on your body, it has caused major suffering. To have that also caused by something that we have no control over but affects us so greatly is traumatizing to many Americans to do, knowing the control we don't have or the unity we do not to have to make any change against that. Which brings us to topics such as raising the minimum wage to make at least manageable make it work for Americans who did suffer from drastic events such as Covid-19, they did not ask to lose their job.
