Research Project Overview Students will use their knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course to research, design, and develop a presentation brief and accompanying documentation on aviation within another country (not Canada, and not the USA) of the student's choosing. Objective Create a quick presentation - also known as a presentation brief- on choose your nation civil aviation sector. Background (Situation) You are a recent hire with Transport Canada's Civil Aviation Authority and you learn that your director has a tasking for you. The ICAO ambassador to choose your nation is scheduled to visit in approximately one week, and your director - who will be hosting the tour - would like to know more of the visiting nation's allied sector. Your task is to create a presentation brief that quickly covers the nation's air transportation system (ATS) as it relates to civil aviation (not military). Primarily, your director would like to know the (1) overview, (2) size, (3) growth of the sector, and (4) the relationship to Canadian aviation (routes offered, immigration, etc.). Since your director is a busy person, they often shuffle around appointments and meetings - therefore, your director asks you to compile a briefing package if your scheduled briefing needs to be canceled. Given the tight deadline, your director must be informed - and it's you're tasking to ensure that they are provided with all relevant information. Purpose Researching involves filtering information by processing what is important and what is not, and capturing what is critical and what may just be "fun to know." In other words, processing a vast amount of information involves consolidating and summarizing your points to make a brief, to- the-point, unambiguous, relevant, and impactful presentation. This research assignment is designed with this process in mind and directly relates to "tasks" in the corporate world or organization sector.
