Question:
The funnel experiment is a profoundly important concept within companies, churches, societies, and certainly the government. What happens when the crime rate "jumps" 2 percent over the course of one year? What happens to the stock price of a company when earnings are down one quarter? What new rules or policies does a company create then force themselves to sustain when an employee is late or meetings run long? Please give an example of what it means to "move the funnel" in an attempt to correct a situation or bad process. I recognize this is a bit more abstract and requires deeper thought and consideration.
2: Daniel Pink - Drive - The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us In Dan Pink's book "Drive - The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us", he dismisses the idea that money, rewards and recognition are our primary motivaters. Instead, he posits that "the secret to high performance and satisfaction-at work, at school, and at home—is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world." List the three things Pink says will bring lasting motivation. Do you believe this to be true? Can you give examples from your own life?
