Question:
Topic Conformity 11 unread reply.11 reply. Section IV Reading 13 presents the Behavioral Study of Obedience by Stanley Milgram (1960) (i.e., Milgram's Shock Study). Milgram was interested in understanding why seemingly normal individuals would act violently toward another simply because they were "following orders". Milgram found that some subjects in the study showed emotional disturbances such as "Profuse sweating, trembling, and stuttering." An unexpected finding was "the occurrence of nervous laughter, which later developed into uncontrollable seizures". Briefly discuss why this type of research design would not be permitted in today's research settings. Give an example of a current study (or field experiment) that addressed the topic of conformity and obedience while minimizing harm to participants? Directions for this assignment can be found in the course syllabus and are attached below: Two follow-up comments (on separate days) to a peer’s summary referencing research published from scholarly journals (suggested databases include Academic Search Premier, psycINFO and psycARTICLES). This includes articles obtained from weekly library research list. Posting of additional information or resources on the topic in the form of you-tube videos, websites, or other form of media source you used in generating research on the topic.
