Two independent studies conducted in two independent populations looked at the relationship between systolic blood pressure(Y, measured on a continuous scale) and stress(X, measured on a continuous scale). The variability in systolic blood pressure measurements in Population-1 is higher than in Population-2. Coincidentally, in both the studies i) the sample size was same, ii) the variability among the stress measurements on the subjects was same, and iii) the correlation between systolic blood pressure measurements and stress measurements was same. However, the reported 95% confidence interval for the magnitude of the effect of stress on systolic blood pressure was different in that Population-1 has wider confidence interval than Population-2. Use statistical reasoning to explain why Population-1 has wider confidence interval than Population-2.
