There are several strategies and methods for managing conflicts and each culture has its own preferences in this respect. The fundamental issue, however, is how each culture perceives the notion of conflict. For some, it can mean confrontation and hostility, for others it means no more than a difference of views. These differences are also reflected in the way people communicate in such situations: certain cultures create a tension, a climate of conflict during a discussion to force a debate on the issue in question.
