I've always been a math person. In high school, I scored a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT. In fact, I scored 800 as a sophomore on a PSAT pretest that I took on Day 1 of an SAT prep elective class. I also won first place at the district-wide Math Field Day all three years that I entered. I started teaching math in Thailand in 2012. Since then, I've taught various types of math ranging from algebra to calculus to students ranging from 7th grade to 11th. I like to prepare thoroughly prior teaching various units and I tend to dig deep into theory and application. I've often engaged my coworkers in discussions involving some of the less-understood subtleties in areas such as matrix determinants. I always like to have a very complete understanding going into a lesson. I also study the variety of approaches to certain types of problems so that I can teach my students multiple ways to solve them, encouraging them to use the method that makes the most sense to them. I love tackling math riddles and pose relevant ones to my students whenever I get the chance.
