Question

A new anti-flu vaccine designed to reduce the duration of symptoms has been developed. However, the effect of the drug varies from person to person. To examine the effect of age on the effectiveness of the drug, a sample of 140 flu sufferers was drawn. Each person reported how long the symptoms of the flu persisted and his or her age. Do these data provide sufficient evidence to infer that the older the patient, the longer it takes for the symptoms to disappear?
