Irene is the Director of Sales in NED Technologies. The majority of the firm's business usually relies on a few major western European clients only. Since western Europe has been facing severe financial crisis in recent years, its demand for computers has been greatly weakened. As a result, the business of NED Technologies has been declining for several quarters already. In view of the undesirable business outlook, Irene has briefed her sales team to put their best effort not only to retain the existing western European clients, but also to set up at least 50 new customer accounts from each salesperson; or else they may have a high chance to be dismissed. Not surprisingly, the number of clients has been dramatically increased a month since the implementation of the new policy. However, it is later discovered that quite a number of accounts are falsified. (a) As the Executive Director of NED Technologies, you cannot accept such unethical behaviour happening in your firm. Identify and explain FOUR most important aspects that you will reinforce to restore the ethical work climate. Support your answer by giving ONE example for EACH aspect based on the information above. (16 marks) (b) Identify and explain FOUR potential inappropriate business practices that the Consumer Council may want to advise NED Technologies against.
