For this assignment you will create a report in Word on a Canadian or US publicly-traded company of your choice. Choose a company that interests you, maybe one that you would like to work with. Your manager is interested in working with this company and has a meeting with its CEO in a few months. To help your manager prepare for the meeting, you must prepare a background report on the company in a memo format that includes a: 1. General overview of the company 2. Discussion of how it uses social media 3. Description of its corporate social responsibility programs Your approach should be informal, professional, and objective, and you must observe all the conventions of business writing covered in our modules. If you make a claim about the company, you should support that claim with evidence, using parenthetical citations and a reference page using APA formatting. Content ● ● ● ● Use an attention-grabbing, descriptive subject line. Write an introduction that provides context, background and introduces the company in a compelling manner. Include a body that provides an overview of the company (products or services, business model, industry, corporate culture/values, differentiating features). It should also describe its strategy for using social media, and its corporate social responsibility program; be sure to include examples. Include a few illustrations to support your main points. These could be infographics, graphs, charts, photos, etc. (If you borrow these from another source, remember to cite them appropriately.) Conclude with a summary of your main points and thoughtful statement. Use research from at least four different types of sources (for example, peer reviewed journals, books/chapters, websites, magazines, etc.). Document your citations in APA format parenthetically in the text and in a reference page at the end of the report.
