Question:
When I evaluate job offers, I consider the location and compare that to the amount that is offered. Those are the first two, I had a situation where I was working 5 mins from my house and the new job was offering me $1 more an hour for an extra 45 minute commute to and from work. That didn't make sense at all so I had to explain to them that wasn't going to work and counter offered. I've also received offers from out of state so you have to take into account the cost of living in that area like California. It is hard for me to consider moving there when it's so expensive, gas, housing, food. The amount of money is very high on my priority list because if I already have a fixed situation and I've put in my time and shown them I'm a good worker I want to make it worth my time to start all over because I have to put in that work all over again to prove myself and my worth to the next company. I also consider the benefits including 401k, medical, dental etc. If the company is not offering those benefits chances are I won't even consider it and that ties into contracting positions. I know a lot of contracting positions do not offer benefits, I have a family so that is very critical to accepting an offer too.Explain
