One measure of the development of a country is the Human Development Index (HDI). Life expectancy, literacy, educational attainment, and gross domestic product per capita are combined into an index between O and l , inclusive with l being the highest development. The United Nations Development Program reports values for 188 countries. We randomly selected fifteen countries. Both HDI and the predictor variable x = Internet penetration in percent of population are obtained from their reports.

(a) Obtain a 95% confidence interval for the mean HDI when Internet penetration is 22%. Compare the width of the interval with that of the interval.
(b) Obtain a 95% prediction interval for a single country with Internet penetration 22%. Interpret.
