9 Unexpected benefits of being a lazy student

So, you’ve realized that you’re lazy. Mazeltov! But, now that you have a handle on the fact that you are lazy, it’s time to focus on what that laziness can get you. Here are nine unexpected benefits of being a lazy student:

You’ll be more attentive in class

Hear me out with this one: the main reason attention drifts during class is because students stay up to all hours of the night completing homework to perfection. But, if you’re lazy and skip the arduous homework time, you’ll have more time to sleep so you’re more awake by the time class comes around.

It can lower your blood pressure

School, especially high school and college, is stressful for everyone, between school work and social needs. Applying this much pressure to oneself can be averse to one’s health. But, if take time to sit around and relax, it provides your body the rest it needs to ward off high blood pressure brought on by your stringent attention to tasks.

Creativity comes at times of rest

If you’re rushing to complete tasks, you’re not going to have the time for esoteric thought. You’ll just be focused on practical, but ultimately boring solutions(study help page). Taking the time to stay idle and think allows for the creative juices to flow. This can provide a solution that follows a more interesting, successful solution.

Efficiency as a deadline approaches

Students that start their assignments as early as possible most likely spend way too much time stressing out on the finer details that won’t affect your grade. But, if you’re lazy and wait until the last minute, you’ll work more efficiently because you only have time to focus on completing the task and not perfecting it.

You’ll save money

Rather than spending your free time on going to restaurants or amusement parks, you’ll be spending your free time on your couch. A couch comes with a one-time payment (unless you find it in the dumpster). No need to spend extra money on tickets or over-priced refreshments.

You’re only going to do what excites you

In college, it’s almost a given that you are going to do things you have no desire to do. Ninety-nine times out of one hundred, these menial projects have no value to you. But, if you’re lazy and only focus on what excites you, you’re going to avoid all the white noise that just fills your schedule.

Naps can be rejuvenating

Most people crash around noon. There is no amount of coffee or energy drink that is going to rejuvenate you, only rest. Take an hour out of your day to nap, so you can recharge your battery and complete your tasks with more efficiency.

You can complete tasks from your couch

There are many exercises you can do from your couch that can improve your health and mental stability. For example, binge-watching high-quality television can improve your psychological functions, as you are tasked with tracking complex plots and character arcs. In addition to this, board and card games can improve your problem-solving skills.

Allows time for appreciation of the present

If you’re always looking for what you need to do in the future, you’ll have no appreciation for the present. This can lead to sadness and possibly depression. Avoiding this and spending time sitting around and thinking about what you have now can make you happier with where you are in your life.
