In 1994, California raisin grape grower Sardul Sihota allegedly promised his son Paul that, if he pursued his education, continued to work on the family’s ranches, and married an Indian Sikh girl, then he and Paul’s stepmother, Jitendra, would take care of him financially. Paul graduated from college in 1994. Sardul and Jitendra arranged Paul’s 1996 marriage to Rajneet, an Indian Sikh girl. Paul continued to work on the family’s ranches until 1999. The couple lived on the Elkhorn Ranch owned by Sardul until 2012, during which time they did not pay rent. When Sardul had to sell the Temperance Ranch in which Paul had an interest, Paul alleged that Sardul promised to put the Elkhorn Ranch in Paul’s name when he was able to do so financially. Sardul denied making such a promise. Paul and Rajneet sued Sardul and Jitendra for breach of contract and fraud. Decide. Explain.
