When starting a new job, most of us operate for a time in fear that we will make a mistake. Assume you are new to your job as an assistant manager at a custodial company and are preparing the company’s bid for a general maintenance contract for a large office building. In preparing the bid, you inadvertently submit a final price of $50,000 rather than $500,000. What happens? Do you lose your job? In some cases, mistakes involving critical facts can be grounds for rescinding contracts.
