I will complete my program next month and have achieved everything I set out to accomplish in July. I have learned a lot regarding not only firearms and ammunition, but also some aspects of physics and how they relate to firearms. The most important concepts I believe I learned are purely the mechanics of different gas systems. Gaining that depth in the breakdown of firearms gives you a depth of understanding capable of breaking down a malfunction to its smallest component, and allows you to work backwards from what is wrong. The why and the how contribute to the what, in the most confusing way I could put it. Some other invaluable information I could cite as important to me is the latest class I'm taking that is currently discussing how to coordinate running a business primarily in the firearms industry. It's so important because it allows you to understand the application of what you know into how to make money from it. The concept I had struggled the most to understand was most likely ballistics. It was something I never put much thought into, but finding out the stages the bullet goes through and how all of that is affected by variables in the firearm or the ammunition goes deeper than I initially thought. The questions I mainly had revolved around some information that fortified things I learned in high school physics. Nothing too noteworthy and moreso gotcha moments. Some of my goals to continue learning involve purchasing firearms with different actions, calibers, and gas systems so that I can familiarize myself with every aspect of firearms that I can could be able to.
