Insert one Styrofoam cup into a second Styrofoam cup. 2. Repeat Step 1 for the two remaining Styrofoam cups. 3. Pour the entire contents of the sand bag (90 mL) into one of the stacked Styrofoam cups. 4. Use the thermometer to take a temperature measurement of the sand and record the value in Table 1. 5. Stack the empty Styrofoam cups upside down on top of the ones with sand making an apparatus similar to a thermos. 6. Use masking tape to secure the cups together where they meet. Make sure the cups are secure enough so that sand does not exit the cups when they are shaken. 7. Use the stopwatch to keep time and gently shake the sand continuously for approximately five minutes. 8. Quickly, but safely, use a pen or pencil to poke a hole in the top two cups. 9. Immediately insert the thermometer to the hole so that the bulb is submerged in the sand
