One thing I found especially interesting in the lessons this week was the anatomy of an effective goal. Most people set a goal and that is it. They do not take the time to map out what would get them to that goal. In the lesson it says that effective goals have 5 parts. The goal has to be specific and measurable. The goal must have a defined period of time. The goal should cover key result areas. The goal should be challenging but realistic. The goal should be linked to rewards. I never took the time to think about the preplanning that goes into a goal. I have had some cleanup projects that have needed to be done for quite some time at work. I have ignored them because they seem insurmountable. If I use the attributes above I could come up with a clear plan to move forward on these projects. I want to fully verify inventory.
